Privacy Policy (English)

Daling (formerly Bungeoppang / DGIST LMS AutoSaver) · Effective October 13, 2026

Daling ("the app") is a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux that helps DGIST students see course materials, assignment deadlines, school e-mail and the academic calendar in one place, and organize them into their own Google Drive and Google Calendar. The app runs entirely on the user's PC. There is no developer-operated server; no data is sent to or collected by the developer. The app contains no analytics, advertising or telemetry, and sells no data.

Data the app handles

  • DGIST account ID and password — used to sign in to the DGIST LMS and school mail. Stored only on the user's computer, encrypted with Windows DPAPI, the macOS Keychain or the Linux keyring.
  • Google OAuth token — used to access the Google Drive and Calendar the user connected. Stored only on the user's PC.
  • Course files, deadlines, school e-mail — stored on the user's PC and, when the user turns it on, in the user's own Google Drive and Google Calendar.
  • Gemini API key (optional) — used only if the user enables summaries or translation. Stored on the user's computer, encrypted with Windows DPAPI, the macOS Keychain or the Linux keyring.

Google user data

Connecting Google is optional. Only when the user connects a Google account does the app request:

  • Google Drive (drive.file) — access limited to files and folders the app creates or the user opens with the app. Used to upload course materials into course/week folders, to check whether a file was already uploaded, and to download a file the user opens from the app.
  • Google Calendar (calendar.app.created) — used to create one dedicated secondary calendar and to create and update events (assignment deadlines, academic-calendar events and dates mentioned in school e-mail) in that calendar. Events created by the app carry a private extended property so they are never duplicated. This permission only opens calendars the app created; the app cannot see or change the user's other calendars or events.
  • Google Calendar list (calendar.calendarlist.readonly) — used only to find the app's existing dedicated calendar by name in the user's calendar list. The app does not read events on any other calendar.

Google user data is used only on the user's PC to provide these user-facing features. It is not transferred to the developer or any server, not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, profiling or credit decisions, and not used to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models. No human reads Google user data, unless the user explicitly shows it to the developer for support.

Daling's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Services the app connects to

DGIST LMS, portal and mail (*.dgist.ac.kr); Google Drive and Calendar APIs (when connected); Google Gemini API (only with the user's own key); the Korean public data portal and DGIST website (public information only); OpenStreetMap Nominatim (place names the user searches); GitHub (update checks, no personal data).

Retention and deletion

All data stays on the user's PC for as long as the user keeps it. Disconnecting Google in the app's settings deletes the local Google token, and access can be revoked at any time at Google Account → Third-party connections. Deleting the data folder (Windows C:\lms-autosaver\, macOS and Linux ~/.lms-autosaver/) removes all local data; also delete the "Daling" item in the macOS Keychain or Linux keyring. Files uploaded to Drive and events added to Calendar live in the user's Google account and can be deleted there.

Security

Passwords and API keys are encrypted with Windows DPAPI or stored in the macOS login Keychain or the Linux keyring (Secret Service, or a file only you can read), so only the current user on that computer can read them. All communication with Google uses HTTPS.

Children

The app is intended for DGIST students and is not directed to children under 14.
